I've been tasked with conducting an internal SCAMPI appraisal to determine the current deficiencies company wide for attaining Level 2 maturity - one of the things I intend to use is a questionnaire to assess how many people actually use established processes within the company.

However I'm wondering if questioning about certain aspects of the CMMI requirements will be necessary. For example - should a shop-floor worker necessarily know about the document listing criteria for establishing requirements providers?

I can understand them needing to know hierarchy via a WBS for example, but I don't see why they need to be able to know of the documentation for establishing requirements providers and stakeholders (that isn't to say it should be unattainable to them, but I don't see how it would be relevent or necessary for them all to be familiar with it) - but at the same time do they actually need to be able to be familiar with it for that process to be considered institutionalised?
